I’m not sure what to say about this one, it makes you dizzy if you listen to it too much.

It’s all been quiet here for too long. Moving house and rebuilding a studio takes a lot longer than I has originally assumed. The good news is that it’s all in working order now (minus the stuff that isn’t). Thing are much nicer and more spacious now, and I’ve changed my monitoring setup. It’ll take my ears a while to adjust, but it’s slowly becoming more neutral sounding.
Here’s a copy of the first thing I’ve made since the move.
Some of it works, some of it does not. I still think it was worth persevering with, even if the outcome is less than I’d hoped for. I still like the contrast of the cinematic opening and the cheesy pop tune.
Made for Halloween, 2017. Long, sprawling ambient thing. Creep-step.
This is some mad shit right here. I told you I’d run from those triad chord progressions. I’m so much happier making this sort of thing than continually trying to shoehorn beats into productions all the time – it’s really not my thing it turns out.
Sprawling, decayed, rumbling mess, almost resembling music. This is my shit.
Technical details: Vermona DRM1 MK III, Waldorf MicroWave XT, Yamaha X81Z w/ Stereoping Controller, modded Kawai K4R, Novation SuperBassStation, Ibanez Harmonizer, a load of old guitar pedals, and a home-made reverb which sounds more like a delay. Oh, and an old tube compressor, you know, for the ‘vibe’.
I didn’t use the RNC Compressor in this at all, but I did have this cool picture from when I had to repair my own. I tried to make something minimal and repetitive. I need to start running away from these fucking unresolved triad chord progressions. They sound too ‘techno’ but anything else sounds like I’m trying too hard. I dunno man.
Here’s some music I made. All hardware because computers are gay-ass.
Here’s some techno I wrote this weekend. I think it’s pretty good. I’ve posted the unmastered as well as a mastered version. It’s interesting I think because the unmastered version retains all of the subsonics, and sounds great on the correct system. The mastered version kills some of these in order to make it a little more friendly on low end systems.
I’m getting better at this FM synthesis.
Fuck it, I’ll post this too
Here’s some more bullshit I made. I like the drums and how the chords break halfway though it. Old skool house.
Made some noisy music and found a cool picture of a cat on an old air freshener – today wasn’t all bad.
Heavily deconstructed techno (I say deconstructed to make it sounds good, really the mix is a fucking mess). Lots of cool analogue drums and filters though and a more modern aesthetic that I can usually muster, although that’s not always a positive.
Have a listen below, I’ll put a download link up later. Maybe. Maybe not.
